Blog Entry Week 3 - Shooting Stars ★~
Blog Entry Week 3 – Virtual Happiness~
Hey Beauties!💕 Ever heard of the game Animal Crossing? Turns
out, it’s been around for quite some time, since its first release dating back
to 2001. I must admit, I had no clue that it even existed before this. In 2020,
the highly anticipated Animal Crossing: New Horizons game was released, and
most people got the Nintendo Switch to play it. Fortunately for me, my sibling
was willing to share their console with me, many moons later though, so I only
started playing it after the hype, but I still play the game nevertheless.
The game instantly brought me joy, as I usually do prefer to
play such games as these. When I was younger, I was obsessed with construction
and management simulation games. So, games like Zoo Animals, Harvest Moon, Animal
Jam, My Littlest Pet Shop, Monster Pet Shop, etc. were a staple in my
childhood. At that point of time, I did not own any consoles, so I had to make
do with the family PC. My very first console was the Nintendo Lite that was
gifted to me on my 11th birthday. I still have it with me a decade
later~➰
Playing Animal Crossing will be so much of fun if you love
construction and management simulation games, as you have to build and manage your
own little island, where you start the game with 2 random villagers. If you
already play Animal Crossing, you should know them; Biff🦛 and Agnes🐖. The hype of
animal crossing includes the villagers, especially the rare ones. Being a
real-time social simulation game created by none other than Nintendo, I knew it
was going to be good.
The game includes whatever I absolutely love, from crafting
your own furniture👗, to customizing your town🏰, fishing🐟 and planting trees🌴, crops🌾, and flowers🌸, and most of all, the OST🎵 (video game music). One of the features in the game is,
it requires players to run around their island, digging up fossils, finding/purchasing
artworks, catching critters and fishing for sea creatures (as well as diving
into the ocean for deep sea creatures), and then giving it to the museum
curator named Blathers. In return, players get to learn about the origins of animals/fossils/art,
and I have become quite knowledgeable I must say.
Did you know that there are so many lo-fi playlists on Animal
Crossing out there? The OST for the game is already so relaxing and I love to let
it shuffle through the whole day, as it gives me the cutest vibes! There are so
many of them on YouTube, and I will be sharing some of my favourite below!
Some of the things that really make me happy on a sad day, is
talking to my villagers! You should be talking to your villagers every day as you
get to build friendship levels with them, and in time, they will give you
presents, and you can give them presents, how fun! I also like to shake trees,
but do remember to carry your bug net, I’ve been stung by in-game wasps too
many times. Some nights, there will be a meteor shower, and sometimes Blather’s
sister, Celeste, will be there especially when it’s a big meteor shower. Be
sure to pan up to look at the sky and wish when you see a shooting star, as you
will find star fragments all over your beach the very next day, and you can use
those to craft lots of cute items!
However, this game isn’t just meant to be single-player, you
can play with friends too! I’ve had many cute virtual dates on animal crossing
with someone special💓, and it really does feel like an actual date, especially when
it’s so hard to meet up during this period of time, as we should always remain
cautious, and remember that Covid-19 is still out and about. Either way, you
can visit your friend’s islands, talk to their villagers and the like. Overall,
this game is so wholesome and cute, it just makes me smile. Oh, you can also
send gifts to one another, how adorable is that?
☆Just a reminder, this entire piece isn’t supposed to be a
guide of any sort, these are just my thoughts on the game, and I highly recommend
playing it. I hope this piece hasn’t bored you to death, I just like taking
breaks from talking about the hard stuff sometimes~ See you soon on another
sunny day!☆
