Blog Entry Week 9 - Carving Desires~

🍦 Blog Entry Week 9 🍧        Once again, another week has passed, but definitely not my poems! As promised, you, dear reader, shall get to explore what’s within the depth of my heart as I pour them out, my overflow of powerful feelings and emotions, in the form of poetry~ Please take your time~ --- In the Midst of Night, Walking Alone In you, I sense loss, grief, and sadness. However, you are not in despair, but it still hurts. I know, trust me, I know exactly what you feel. But just know that you are not alone. I wish you would slow down that lightning pace of yours, and take a moment to smell the flowers dancing in the breeze. I wish you wouldn’t hold back your golden tears when your own flesh and blood dehumanizes you. I wish you will come to know yourself someday, on a much deeper level, when the sun sets and neon lights blaze, a tiny singular room of acceptance, support, and love, unconditional love. But most of all, I wis...

Blog Entry Week 8 - Poetry on Pointe~

💓 Blog Entry Week 8 💘 Welcome back! After a short hiatus, I’m back brimming with energy to showcase more of me~ So far on my blog, I’ve covered topics on film reviews such as Encanto, and also on my skincare journey, as well as my STPM experience, and more. For this posting, I feel that it would be a great opportunity to share my very own poems and flash fiction which I have made! I was thinking about the risk of my work being used as someone else’s, and I still do worry a little. However, you know who you are, and you should also know what’s within the moral boundaries of society and etiquette. Anyway, today I shall be showcasing two poems that I composed. Enjoy! --- Freedom As soft music plays, and leaves fall, just know, Autumn will always wait for you. The season of Fall is within you, bursting anew with deadly life, creating worlds by hand from pumpkins. Feel the texture of the white sand beneath your feet. Gaze at the longing waves calling out your ...

💓 Encanto Review Part 3 💝 Welcome back to my final Encanto Review! For this last part, I figured on sharing my thoughts about specific scenes, characters, and their dynamics. I know that I did state about wanting to explain about plot elements and such, but I prefer giving a well-rounded sharing than explaining only one aspect. Well, let’s drive straight into it!     --Favourite Event/Scene-- Firstly, I think it’s only suitable to start with my favourite event/scene in Encanto. This enchanting tale supposedly set in the 1950s most certainly has a myriad of scenes of which I adore. However, the one scene that catches my eye the most is towards the end of the movie, where all the characters are singing “All of You”, and Mirabel Madrigal is encouraged and feels loved. I particularly love this scene as it revisits the time when Mirabel was only about 5 years old and she was walking towards the shiny glittering door inside the house, where she was supposed to b...

💖 Encanto Review Part 2 💖 Welcome back to another Encanto Review! Today I shall be covering the rest of our beloved                        Madrigals in Encanto. --- 💡   Abuela (Alma) Madrigal 🕯   Alma is the matriarch of the Madrigal family. Her steadfast determination and unwavering hope led her to the magical Encanto, where she raised triplets Julieta, Pepa, and Bruno. Abuela is known for being extremely family-oriented, is particular to details, harsh intonations and words, as well as being very strict and responsible when it comes to her family and serving the community. She and Mirabel contradict each other throughout the show, and their conflict is ultimately what causes Casita to collapse. They make up in the end, and Abuela comes to know that she has held on to her family members too tightly, therefore giving them space to grow and be their true selves moving forwards. Abuela va...
